Igor Cvacho- painter, graphic artist and designer was born on
October 17th 1961 in Žilina. He graduated at the Slovak Technical University in
Bratislava (1980 - 86) and he finished a two-years course in graphic arts at
the University of Fine Arts in Bratislava (1987 - 88). Working in the Department of the
Chief Architect of Žilina (1988-89) he passed through his profession with more technical
approach to freelance as a visual artist and he has devoted himself to this position up to date.
His artistic creation is characterized by professional activities in a multitude of disciplines.
Igor Cvacho's graphics and paintings were presented in exhibitions in many countries, but some
of his works were placed in architecture, he illustrated books for children and adults,
he created ex librises, New Year's greetings and graphical trademarks. At the same time he
has paid attention to graphic design and advertisements.
Individual part of his creation is publishing author's publications
like bibliophiles or artistic calendar in a limited series. During the realization
of these last mentioned projects he co-operated with such prominent Czech and Slovak
musicians and writers like Karel Kryl, Jiří Suchý, Július Satinský, Stanislav Štepka,
Vladimír Merta, Boris Filan, Ján Lenčo on the one hand and the other hand, he also
co-operated with famous visual artists such as Boris Jirku, Róbert Brun, Dušan Polakovič,
Igor Piačka, Jilian Jordanov, Danielle Doucet and others. Igor Cvacho is a very energetic
person. Besides his graphics and painting, he has composed his own songs and creating
original texts and aside from all of these he is also performing his folk music.
Igor Cvacho has acclaimed in more than twenty individual exhibitions and many
others together with the Visual Association Cont-Art. Some of the exhibitions were in Slovakia
for example in Bratislava (Studio S, 1999)(Gallery Michalsky Dvor 2002), in Nitrianska Gallery
in Nitra (2002), in Považska Gallery of Art in Žilina (2001), Klasik Gallery in Žilina (2004)
or in the Slovak National Museum - Modrý Kameň (2004).
He exhibited also in many countries like for example in Belgium, Slovak EU mission
in Brussels (2001), in Poland in Warsaw and Krakow (2000), in Austria in Wien (1998),
Graz (1994) and Feldbach (1997), in the Czech Republic in Prague (2003), Uherské Hradište (2003),
Český Tešín (1999), Olomouc (2004) and in Larnaca on Cyprus island (2003).
He is regularly representing Slovak visual art on the international exhibition and symposiums
in many countries (Holland, Belgium, Italy, Austria, England, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, Bulgaria,
Croatia, Mexico, Germany, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Sweden, Norway).
He is a member of associations joined in the Slovak Fine Art Union - Graphics Club
and Cont-Art. His works of art can be found in several galleries and private collections
in many countries and pieces were published in catalogues and exhibition reviews.
He has carried a several prizes for his creation. F. e. Prize of the Ministry of Culture
